Patricia has worked on movements and campaigns for marginalized groups, including adolescent girls, women, and the LGBTQIA+ community, to advocate for their rights. Through the Emerging Leaders Program, she hopes to engage in strategic advocacy to reshape society for a world that accommodates everyone. These groups continue to endure much of society’s ignorance, hatred, and phobias.
Patricia will be performing a spoken word poem that critiques sexual violence and the societal silencing of young women’s voices. It juxtaposes the innocence of childhood with the betrayal of trust by authority figures, demanding autonomy and safety over “good girl” compliance.
