Why Narrm?
Narrm (pronounced naarm) is the name used by the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people for the area now called Melbourne. The Women Deliver 2026 Conference (WD2026) will take place on the unceded lands of the Eastern Kulin Nation — home to the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung Peoples.
Using the name Narrm recognizes the deep, living history of the First Nations Peoples of this land — and aligns with WD2026’s commitment to First Nations leadership, governance, and self-determination.
