Emma McKeon

Olympic and Commonwealth Games swimmer

Emma McKeon is an Olympic and Commonwealth Games swimmer. She is Australia’s most decorated Olympian at a single Games, and the only woman in history across all sports to win seven medals at one Olympics (Tokyo 2020).

Emma became an Ambassador for UNICEF Australia in 2022. Since becoming an Ambassador, Emma has championed girls’ education throughout her work. In 2024, Emma visited UNICEF programmes in Bangladesh – she saw the impact of comprehensive child protection programmes, and was able to channel her passion for swimming into her work with UNICEF through supporting a Swimsafe programme, helping turn fear of swimming into lifesaving skills.

Emma will be speaking at the Plenary session Girls at the Center: Power, Voice, and Investment.
