Louisa Wall
Oceanic Pacific Mobilization Advisor WD2026, Convenings
Louisa Wall (ia/she/her) is a First Nations tribal representative, human rights advocate, and former elite athlete with over two decades of experience advancing social justice, gender equality, and LGBTQIA+ rights across Aotearoa and the Pacific. With whakapapa to Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Waikato, and Ngāti Hineuru, Louisa’s work is grounded in Indigenous values and a commitment to decolonisation, intersectionality, and the reindigenisation of SOGIESC identities.
Louisa has held multiple leadership roles, including as a Member of Parliament in Aotearoa New Zealand, where she championed marriage equality and reproductive justice. She currently serves as the Women’s Chair of ILGA Oceania and chairs its Decriminalisation Project Steering Committee. She also holds a governance role within her iwi as Chair of the Ngāti Tūwharetoa Iwi Māori Partnership Board, where she works to ensure Māori health needs are met by influencing local health priorities, advocating for tribal communities, and monitoring health sector performance.
A former Black Fern and Silver Fern, Louisa brings the same strength and strategic vision from the sporting field to international advocacy. She has represented the Pacific region in global human rights forums and regularly consults on policies that address the intersections of gender, sexuality, Indigenous sovereignty, and feminist social and economic justice within a context of ongoing colonialism.
Louisa’s leadership is informed by her lived experience, her enduring commitment to collective wellbeing, and her belief in the transformative power of Indigenous peoples, specifically through feminist leadership. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Social Policy and continues to champion equity and dignity for all communities, including Pacific Islanders of Diverse SOGIESC across Te Moana Nui-a-Kiwa, the Blue Pacific Continent.
Louisa is currently serving as the Oceanic Pacific Mobilization Advisor for the Women Deliver 2026 Conference (WD2026).
