Bio
Zamzam is a climate justice advocate and digital creator from an Indigenous pastoralist community in northern Kenya. As the founder and Executive Director of Northern Vision Community-Based Organisation, she combines storytelling with advocacy to empower marginalized communities, foster resilience, and advocate for a sustainable future. She passionately believes in the power of youth to advocate for their interests in the face of global inaction. By speaking up, young people can challenge the status quo, hold leaders accountable, and push for policies that secure their rights and well-being while also safeguarding future generations. Through the Emerging Leaders Program, Zamzam aims to leverage new insights and resources to strengthen her work in advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for adolescent girls in her communities. She envisions this program as a platform to drive impactful change, enhance local and global advocacy efforts, and contribute to a future where every girl and woman has the autonomy and support needed to thrive. Beyond her advocacy, Zamzam loves playing badminton and upholds the power of poetry as a tool for uniting generations in social justice.
