What ignited your pursuit for gender equality?

My sister was a victim of forced early child marriage and my nephew died when he was two years old because of poor health. Our women don’t have rights on their fertility and access to sexual and reproductive health. I can see a large number of acid victims, honor killings, and sexual violence.

Please share your biggest wins as an advocate for gender equality.

Being a master trainer, I trained volunteers, teachers, religious leaders, and local government on CSE from 2012 to 2019. I arranged numerous activities for the inclusion of Life Skill Base Education in curriculum and lobbied with parliamentarians for one-on-one discussions with youth. Being a young activist leading Pakistan’s number one team working on different social issues and awareness-raising campaigns with many organizations as volunteer. I also created short films, documentaries, and theatrical plays on family planning and SRHR and initiated my own web channel, Social T.V.

Outside of your gender equality advocacy work, what do you enjoy doing?

Acting is my passion and profession. I am a performing arts trainer and storyteller. I develop short films and documentaries on social issues. My remaining free time is spent by reading books, data analysis, and content development.
