For her final year project, Ramona Abdallah (Class of 2018) created a LGBT community center in Beirut to promote equality and visibility and to highlight the contributions of the LGBT community in the MENA region. Ramona interviewed queer youth and connected with LGBT organizations to understand the challenges, hopes, and dreams of the community in order to address them as she conceptualized the center. After presenting her concept, she was able to communicate to her professors about LGBT history and the importance of the project and its impact on larger society.
