Mariana (she/her) is an Afro-Brazilian journalist and Program Advisor for WD2026, Convenings, at Women Deliver. She has over a decade of experience with the United Nations in Geneva, New York, and Brasília, where she led communication and advocacy strategies on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), HIV/AIDS, racial justice, gender equality, and humanitarian response.

Before joining Women Deliver, Mariana worked with UNFPA, UNAIDS, ITC, and OHCHR, where she developed global campaigns, produced inclusive storytelling amplifying the voices of Afro-descendant, Indigenous, and other marginalized communities, and coordinated high-level events in hybrid, in-person, and online formats. She has worked on the organization of global symposia, UN General Assembly side events, and advocacy initiatives featuring the participation of heads of state, ministers, and UN leaders.

Mariana holds a Master’s degree in Anthropology and Sociology of Development from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva, where she researched reproductive justice and the role of Black and Indigenous traditional midwives in northeastern Brazil. She also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from São Paulo State University (UNESP).

She works fluently in Portuguese, English, and French, with additional proficiency in Spanish.
