About WD2026

WD2026: A Historic First in the Oceanic Pacific

This moment goes beyond geography — it’s about shifting power. WD2026 will center the leadership, knowledge, and resistance of feminists, activists, and First Nations leaders across the Oceanic Pacific, a region at the forefront of climate justice, gender equality, and decolonization.

At a time when gender equality is under attack, WD2026 will be a radical space for movement-building — created by us, for us — to strategize, resist, and push back against the escalating threats to the rights of girls, women, and gender-diverse people worldwide.

What WD2026 Will Do:

  • Elevate feminist and youth-led leadership in the face of growing anti-rights movements.
  • Mobilize bold, intersectional policies that challenge systems of oppression.
  • Reclaim narratives from those seeking to roll back progress.
  • Strengthen transnational feminist movements to hold governments accountable.

Why Now?

We are living through a moment of relentless attacks on gender equality. Anti-rights actors and hate groups are well-organized, well-funded, and emboldened. WD2026 will be a space of joy, strategy, and resistance — a collective act of defiance against those trying to control our bodies, erase our identities, and dismantle our rights.

Initial Key Themes:

  • Adolescent Girls’ Rights & SRHR – Centering their autonomy and leadership in shaping their futures.
  • Climate Justice as a Gender & Age Issue – Ensuring those most impacted — especially adolescent girls — lead climate solutions.
  • Countering Anti-Rights Narratives – Advancing key narratives for social change and redefining power on our terms.
  • Strengthening Multilateral Action – Restoring feminist leadership in global policy spaces and holding governments accountable.
