Why the Oceanic Pacific Region?
The Oceanic Pacific Region, home to diverse nations and a rich history of First Nations leadership, is uniquely positioned to drive global gender equality narratives. Feminist movements here have championed intersectional issues like climate justice, bodily autonomy, and the rights of First Nations communities.
The selection of this region reflects the dedicated advocacy of local feminists, ensuring their leadership and solutions are at the forefront of WD2026. Regional dialogues in Fiji and Melbourne, along with a strong Oceanic Pacific delegation at the 2023 Women Deliver Conference, have already laid the foundation for WD2026’s strategic priorities.
