Dr Pascale Allotey is an internationally recognized authority on gender equity, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and human rights in global health. She serves as Director of the World Health Organization’s Department of Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, Child, Adolescent Health and Ageing and leads HRP, the United Nations Special Programme for Research in Human Reproduction. A nurse, midwife, and public health scholar, Dr Allotey brings over three decades of experience spanning clinical practice, research, and health systems strengthening. Her leadership emphasizes feminist principles, decolonizing global health, and integrating lived experience into policy. She holds a PhD in Public Health and has published extensively on gender, health inequities, and rights-based approaches.
