The human right to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health must be realized by everyone, and universal health coverage (UHC) can support that realization. This factsheet identifies why sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are essential to UHC and why, especially in the face of COVID-19, incorporating SRHR into UHC is crucial for the health of girls, women, and gender-diverse people. It provides links to tools for tracking progress on SRHR in UHC at multiple levels. And, geared towards advocates, but useful to everyone, it equips advocates with practical demands and ways to engage. It was prepared in advance of the 75th World Health Assembly and will support advocacy toward the 2023 high-level meeting on UHC.
