The African Regional Convening towards Women Deliver 2026, held from November 24–26, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya, brought together over 200 participants from across the region — including civil society organizations, feminist movements, youth advocates, government representatives, and multilateral partners.

Led by Sonke Gender Justice, the convening addressed Africa’s escalating sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) crisis, occurring against the backdrop of a shrinking five-year window to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), dwindling civic spaces, and devastating cuts in foreign aid. Across three days, participants sent a clear and urgent message: African solutions must be nurtured on African soil. The gathering called for a decisive shift from aid dependency to domestic accountability, underpinned by true power-sharing.

This conference report captures the key takeaways from the convening and presents a strategic roadmap of non-negotiable demands to advance the agenda towards Women Deliver 2026 — signaling a powerful pivot from petitioning for aid to asserting accountability, agency, and leadership across the continent.
