Women Deliver’s advocacy at the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA78) is rooted in the recognition that health is a human right — and that access to comprehensive, high-quality, and gender-responsive sexual and reproductive health services is essential to achieving health and gender equality for all.
We will:
- Advocate for gender-transformative health systems that address social, environmental, and structural determinants of health
- Champion the meaningful participation of adolescent girls, young people, and civil society — especially from the global majority
- Support efforts to protect WHO’s engagement with non-State actors — including civil society, youth advocates, academic institutions, and the private sector — which is crucial for transparent, inclusive, and effective global health governance
- Position ourselves as a trusted technical partner to Member States in shaping and implementing future normative frameworks
- Defend the role of multilateralism in advancing global health — and push back against efforts to weaken or politicize institutions like WHO
By engaging at WHA78, we aim to ensure that progressive voices are not silenced, and that the global health agenda reflects the realities and rights of those most impacted.
