Isaac Ejakhegbe, a Women Deliver Young Leader from Nigeria, is implementing “My Body, My Right,” a seed grant project made possible by Johnson & Johnson that seeks to fill gaps left by the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (VAPP) of 2015 to end female genital mutilation (FGM). Isaac mobilized seven traditional birth attendants, eight faith leaders, 200 young people, and 250 community members, increasing awareness of VAPP and how it relates to the practice of FGM with the ultimate goal of generating demand for the enforcement of the law.
