Paleni (she/her) is a communications and advocacy consultant based in Namibia. Over the past ten years she has worked with various organizations and projects with a focus on advocating for gender and racial equality, sexual reproductive health and bodily autonomy.

Prior to joining Women Deliver, Paleni worked as the Communications, Partnerships and Advocacy Coordinator for the Global Youth Mobilization, an initiative formed by Big Six Youth Organisations, with the support of the World Health Organization and United Nations Foundation, leading on advocacy and communications strategies with youth-led movements addressing issues such as, education disruption and employability, mental and physical health, gender equity and COVID-19 protection and prevention.

Paleni has also worked with the AIDS and Rights Alliance for Southern Africa (ARASA) with a focus on HIV/AIDS, access to safe abortion, access to justice and the promotion of sexual reproductive health and rights in southern and east Africa.

Paleni has a background in journalism and editing and is passionate about using media as a tool to tell vital intersectional stories to address stigma, discrimination, harmful discourses and norms.

Paleni holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics and International Relations from Rhodes University in South Africa.
