Women Deliver 2013 was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on May 28th, 29th and 30th. This page will give you an overview of some highlighted events at Women Deliver 2013. 

PLENARY HALL EVENTS

High-Level Plenaries (Plenary Hall)
The conference featured high-level Plenary Sessions each morning and afternoon in the Plenary Hall. No other conference sessions or events took place during morning and afternoon Plenary Sessions. Watch archived videos.

Presidential Sessions (Plenary Hall)
The Presidential Sessions were held at various times on all three days of Women Deliver 2013 in the Plenary Hall.  Other Conference sessions and events were ongoing during the Presidential Sessions. Watch archived videos.

To the Point (Plenary Hall)
The To The Point speeches were short talks by leading experts and advocates in the Plenary Hall. These speeches took place from 11:00-13:00 on Wednesday, May 29th and Thursday, May 30th, directly following the morning Plenary Sessions. Watch the To The Point talks for Wednesday and Thursday.
 

CONCURRENT SESSIONS

Concurrent Sessions
Women Deliver 2013 included more than 120 concurrent sessions  held over the full three days of the conference. All sessions were held in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and will fall under 12 themes related to ensuring the health, rights and wellbeing of girls and women.

Skills-Building Workshops
Women Deliver 2013 concurrent sessions included a number of skills-building workshops which provided Conference delegates an opportunity to develop new communications and advocacy skills, and refine old ones, to improve their work for girls and women. These workshops were held from 11:00-13:00 (Room 305) and from 11:00-13:00 (Room 402) on Wednesday, May 29th and from 11:00-13:00 (Room 402) on Thursday, May 30th. 
 

EXHIBIT HALL EVENTS

Cinema Corner (Exhibit Hall 2, Hospitality Suite 2)
The Women Deliver 2013 Cinema Corner screened films which relayed the message that the arts are an important path to creating a more equitable world for girls and women. Cinema Corner was held in Exhibit Hall 2, Hospitality Suite 2. Screenings took place over the course of the Conference, except during Plenary Sessions.

Speaker’s Corner (Exhibit Hall 2)
Speaker’s Corner was an opportunity for delegates, agencies and organizations to launch special events, projects, campaigns and reports. Each session was 10 minutes long, with five minutes for Q&A. The Speaker’s Corner was held in Exhibit Hall 2 and ran during the entire Conference, except during Plenary Sessions.

Social Enterprise Challenge (Exhibit Hall 5)
The Social Enterprise Challenge featured 10 social enterprises that are making a difference for girls and women around the world.  From 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 30th in Exhibit Hall 5, presenters each had 10 minutes to “pitch” their enterprise to a panel of expert judges. The winners were New Incentives (1st place), Black Girls Code (2nd place) and Wedu (3rd place).

Tech & Tech (Exhibit Hall 5)
Techniques and Technology (Tech & Tech), co-hosted by PATH and Women Deliver, was a chance for presenters to talk about successful programs and initiatives for maternal health. Tech & Tech took place in the West End of Exhibit Hall 5. These 15-minute sessions began at 11:05 on Tuesday, May 28th and continue until 16:05 on Wednesday, May 29th.
