Rakibul Hasan received a $5,000 seed grant from Women Deliver — made possible by Johnson & Johnson — to implement the Peacempire project, which used diverse community and communications advocacy strategies to raise awareness on child marriage and violence against girls and young women, drive youth support for eliminating child marriage, and work with government officials to strengthen laws against the practice. Through his project, Rakibul launched a public petition that gained 1,102 signatures in support of closing loopholes in laws that allow child marriage to occur. The Peacempire staff met with parliamentary members and education officers, whom accepted the petition and expressed support in moving forward to work to revise these laws.
