Paula Melisa Trad Malmod (Class of 2018) works as a reporter at the Argentinian newspaper, Diario Huarpe. In March 2018, she published a story on “Las Socorristas,” a feminist group that accompanies women in need of an abortion in a country where this practice has largely been illegal. As such, the feminist group operates underground. Paula interviewed one of the group’s members to shed light on this bold work and their impact. Paula’s article provided an estimated 25,000 readers with ways to reach the group’s services.
