Findings from research on ethical issues regarding palliative care showed that women face barriers for their status in the household and in society (as married, divorced, or widowed), often not getting their rightful inheritance to land and property. Joanne Machagah (Class of 2018) conducted a training for healthcare workers to share resources to incorporate legal services in palliative care treatment, such as drafting wills to prevent unfair treatment toward these women.
