Génesis Luigi and Richard Dzikunu spoke on a panel called “Youth Power & SDG 5: Youth-Led Accountability in the Fight for Gender Equality” at the United nations General Assembly on September 18, 2017. The event was co-hosted by the Missions of Denmark and Mexico, the Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, Restless Development, UNFPA, and Women Deliver. Panelists highlighted the different ways young people are leading the accountability efforts for the 5th sustainable development goal (SDG), Gender Equality, along with other SDGs pertinent to achieving gender equality. The idea was to work at local and national levels to ensure gender equality is achieved by 2030.
