During the launch of Home of Brains, a center for mental health in Kenya’s Kisumu County, Ammon Otieno (Class of 2018) offered recommendations for the allocation of more funds to the mental health department by the county budget committee in an effort to improve service delivery as mental health has traditionally been overlooked in health care delivery. As a result of this engagement, officials committed to strengthening and implementing the mental health policy.
