Makananelo’s project, Promoting Access to Contraception for University Students, responded to the high rates of unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, unsafe abortions, and early marriages at the National University of Lesotho by providing accurate information on contraceptives to female students and promoting informed decision-making. As part of her project, Makananelo trained approximately 1,000 students with contraceptive information and convened a meeting with 200 first- and second-year students to bust myths and provide youth-friendly information.
