Talimba Bandawe and Williot Lumbe, Women Deliver Young Leaders from Malawi, engaged in a small-group consultation with the Norwegian Deputy Minister Laila Bokhari and staff members of the Norwegian Embassy in Malawi. Talimba discussed her World Contraception Day Ambassadors project, which aims to bring awareness of the female condom to young people in Malawi, and she shared her insight into what life as a girl and young woman in Malawi is really like on the ground. Williot Lumbe reported back from his seed grant project, which aims to reduce child marriage, early unwanted pregnancies, and HIV among adolescents in the Ntcheu District in Malawi.

Deputy Minister Bokhari, Talimba, and Williot discussed tangible solutions that would advance the health, rights, and wellbeing of girls and women in Malawi. From engaging more young men to developing coalitions between traditional leaders, government officials, and young people, the consultation provided inspiration and a pathway forward.
