Premier Jacinta Allan was elected to Parliament in 1999 and is the second female Premier in Victoria’s history. She is the longest serving female Minister in Australia’s history and Victoria’s longest serving Labor Minister.
As Premier, she is focused on the things that matter most to Victorian families: cost of living, health, education and safety. Before becoming Premier, she held senior ministerial portfolios across transport, major projects, regional development, industry, skills and education. She oversaw some of the biggest infrastructure investments in Victoria’s history – including the removal of more than 100 level crossings, the Metro Tunnel, West Gate Tunnel, North East Link, Suburban Rail Loop and Regional Rail Revival.
Jacinta represents the seat of Bendigo East in the Victorian Parliament. She was proudly born and raised in Bendigo, where she is now raising her own young family.
