Mendy Marsh

Director and Lead on the Humanitarian Portfolio, Equality Institute New York

Mendy Marsh is a leader in addressing violence against women and girls (VAWG) in humanitarian emergencies. Mendy Marsh recently joined The Institute as Director of the New York Office (EQI New York) and Lead on the Humanitarian Portfolio. In addition to a history of non-profit experience, until recently she was based at UNICEF headquarters, where she deepened the analysis of UN entities, NGOs and research organizations, shaped policy, attracted funding, and defined cutting-edge interventions to promote the empowerment of women and girls and defend their rights to health, bodily autonomy and freedom from violence in humanitarian contexts. Her work at EQI New York will focus on empowering refugee and displaced women and girls to lead humanitarian responses and shape priorities within disaster contexts. Mendy is passionate about the power of collective advocacy and strengthening the voices and leadership of girls and women within humanitarian action.
