What ignited your pursuit for gender equality?

I come from a country where except from two or three current generations all the women have been illiterate. They never had an official job or a visible appearance in the government. The only goal for them was to get married and have kids. But after realizing their rights, there have always been battles to achieve those rights from those who have took them from them for centuries. After witnessing everything I came to a point that if I don't stand for others who'll stand for me. I believe that women are core development objective for a society and since then I have always focused on gender based issues in my community and advocated for women rights.

Please share your biggest wins as an advocate for gender equality.

Fighting for a 21 year old girl from a very low income family to have the right to discharge her baby after having six kids. After a lot of negotiations and discussions finally the husband accepted to let her discourage the baby this time so that she could avoid death and disease.

Outside of your gender equality advocacy work, what do you enjoy doing?

I really enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like group travels, hosting parties or going to parties. I've enjoyed cooking since my childhood.
