Given today’s political climate, the activism of young people everywhere is essential in shaping the future global stage and ensuring the rights of all people. Young female leaders especially hold the key to achieving full equality, and, for this reason, it is necessary we give them the tools to succeed.

What ignited your pursuit for gender equality?

My first period. I experienced extreme, debilitating pain that kept me from going to school, and I went on birth control at the age of 12 to manage. My experience made me realize how lucky I am to have resources and that I was able to continue school.

Please share your biggest wins as an advocate for gender equality.

I’m working to bring reusable pads to homeless and low-income girls and women in Los Angeles. I'm hoping that by providing access to period products, they won't be hindered or limited by their period. Instead, they can pursue their goals and make the world a more gender-equal place.

Outside of your gender equality advocacy work, what do you enjoy doing?

I love to read and travel. I'm a huge foodie and enjoy binging on Spanish telenovelas. I love US women's soccer and have recently taken up sewing.
