Helena Likaj is passionate about creating safe spaces to empower, educate, and equip young girls and women.
Helena is originally from Albania and currently lives in the United States. She studied Health Services at University of Pittsburgh, and received a Master of Public Health degree in Maternal and Child Health at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. As a Program Coordinator in the Prevention Department at Odyssey House Louisiana, Helena is responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating the iPrevent Campaign, an interactive program rooted in addressing barriers to health for youth. Additionally, she possesses years of experience advocating for young women and girls through her work at Planned Parenthood Federation of America and APEX Youth Center. As an advocate, Helena is proud to have created storytelling events that provided a platform for youth to share their unique journeys, cultivating safe spaces for young girls to learn and grow.
Helena was inspired to become an advocate by her parents, Rajmonda and Leonidha Likaj, because they have led by example when it comes to always extending a helping hand to all.
In her free time, Helena enjoys volunteering, cooking, listening to music, and exploring with family and friends.
