Bio
Elnique (Nique) Shalo was born and raised in Cameroon. She received a Bachelor of Educational Psychology in Special Education from University of Buea in 2019.
What ignited your pursuit for gender equality?
My pursuit in gender equality was ignited by the power and voice of the woman closing that gap between the male and female gender and working on the cultural brainwashing of the idea of who a woman is and who she isn’t.
Please share your biggest wins as an advocate for gender equality.
My friend and I came up with an initiative to promote women’s growth though business and handwork. I consider this a win because through the training and little money, we were able to help start a business for one of the woman in our community and better the lives of her children.
Outside of your gender equality advocacy work, what do you enjoy doing?
Carrying out advocacy for mental health and wellness.
