Aya Mouallem is passionate about youth and women empowerment via immersive tech, leadership, and mentorship programs.
Aya was born and raised in Lebanon. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at the American University of Beirut. As the Co-founder and Co-director at All Girls Code since its founding in 2017, she is responsible for running tech-immersive and leadership programs to encourage young girls to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields in university. Through her initiative All Girls Code, she was chosen by the Lebanese Prime Minister as a partner in the Summer of Innovation. Additionally, she also is the College Ambassador at Stanford’s She++ and was chosen to be a Google Woman Techmaker. As an advocate, Aya is proud that 90 percent of All Girls Code graduates join STEM fields at university.
Since becoming a Young Leader, Ayay is proud to have become a Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford University, where she is pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering while working on multiple projects to expand the impact of All Girls Code and similar initiatives in the MENA region. Aya firmly believes that the STEM fields would not advance properly without the leadership, skills, and contribution of women.
Aya advocates for girls and women because without women’s tech and leadership skills, the STEM fields will not advance properly.
In her free time, Aya enjoys running, reading, coding, building robots, and practicing yoga with family and friends.
