Bio
Alesha Douglas was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. She is currently attending St. Joseph’s Covent San Fernando. Alesha is a Trinidad and Tobago/United States Youth Ambassador, Founder and Director of the newly launched R.I.S.E Youth Organisation, which has executive arms in both Trinidad and Tobago, Girls Parliamentarian at Girls Takeover Parliament Trinidad and Tobago, and Co-Owner of Online Tutoring Services TT.
What ignited your pursuit for gender equality?
Over the years, people only supported young males to own successful business, but I wanted to change that narrative. Young women have the same potential to greatness and own their own organizations and companies. For this reason, along with the drive to inspire and uplift young girls, I became the Founder and Director of the R.I.S.E Youth Organisation and the Co-Owner of Online Tutor Services TT and Double A Express.
Please share your biggest wins as an advocate for gender equality.
My biggest win thus far is establishing the R.I.S.E Youth Organisation with all female executives.
Outside of your gender equality advocacy work, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoying going out with my close friends and discussing current world issues. I love going to the beach, eating my favorite vegetarian meals, and spending quality time with my family.
