During the SheDecides Flagship Event in Pretoria, South Africa in February, Helena Leonard and Onward Chironda (Class of 2016) shared their insights on giving youth a seat at the table early on to ensure meaningful youth engagement. Helena emphasized that early engagement could positively contribute to young people’s involvement in decision-making processes and effectively help advance policy and legislation. Onward emphasized that young people from diverse backgrounds must be engaged and included in these processes as well.
