Marieme Soda Ndiaye (Class of 2018) attended the World Water Forum, which is part of the global collaborative process on water issues, providing relevant policy and decision-makers with an international forum for debate and expert input. She and 100 youth organization representatives from around the world convened to reflect on water governance and on SDG 6, which ensures availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. Together they proposed a number of global solutions and developed recommendations to world leaders to address concerns and enlist support for youth initiatives. The group drafted a “Joint Declaration of Young People,” a first in the history of the World Water Forum signed by all participants in the Youth Forum, which will be disseminated to all targeted stakeholders.
