Together for Girls’ From Data to Action: Ending the Cycle of Violence Against Girls on International Day of the Girl

In celebrating International Day of the Girl, Together for Girls held a panel discussion titled From Data to Action: Ending the cycle of violence against girls. The event brought together congresswomen and congressmen, US and Canada policy makers, NGO leaders, researchers and young people to discuss ways of ending the cycle of violence against girls. The key outcome was that congresswomen and congressmen committed to do more in their states to support survivors of violence and ending violence against girls, and pledged to provide more resources to make data available. The need for young people, especially survivors of violence to be involved in developing strategies, policies and laws to end violence was emphasized in order to learn from their experiences as survivors and cater for their needs.
