Dakshitha Wickremarathne, Ali Kaviri, and Sarah Soysa joined over 150 youth leaders from around the world at the 9th Commonwealth Youth Ministers Meeting in Kampala, Uganda as they sought to secure solutions to their concerns over growing inequality and a lack of employment and education options.Youth leaders considered their priorities for the future and what they believed they would need in order to achieve their goals. Among their primary recommendations, they listed a need for more innovative sources of funding for youth development projects including youth-led social enterprises. The Youth Leaders Forum organized by the Commonwealth Youth Council and National Youth Council of Uganda, along with the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Government of Uganda, gave young people a unique platform to address the adults that will shape the world they will inherit by giving them space to present their joint statement at the main ministerial meeting held immediately following the youth ministers meeting.
