As a Young African Leaders’ Initiative (YALI) alumna, Shareefa Jewan (Class of 2018) conducted sessions at local community youth centers to provide young people information about this program. Shareefa encouraged them to apply to upcoming cohorts and answered questions about the selection process. She emphasized that that participation in this program would further empower youth in her community and help them enhance their leadership capabilities, especially for females. These youth are now better equipped to submit their applications to the YALI program and to showcase their leadership abilities.
