The hotline provides confidential, secure information about medication abortion to women in Sri Lanka, a country where abortion is generally illegal. “It’s very difficult to get funding for controversial issues or hotlines operated by young feminists,” said Sarah Soysa, who runs an abortion hotline in Sri Lanka. “Most of our counselors work for free.”
