Pan African Youth Summit Mobilizes Youth to Speak Out Against FGM/C – Women Deliver

Kelechukwu Nwachukwu (Class of 2016) coordinated and participated in the first Pan African Youth Summit on ending female genital mutilation and cutting (FGM/C) in Nairobi in April. This summit mobilized young people to speak out against FGM/C, where Kelechukwu moderated two sessions on why young people must be included in the campaign to end FGM/C. As a result of the summit, he and attendees launched a youth strategic plan document and saw an increased and improved commitment from young people from the African continent on their resolve to continue to speak out against FGM/C.
