Olaoluwa Abagun spoke on a panel called “She Leads: Civic Empowerment for Adolescent Girls and Young Women” that introduced an exciting new consortium with the goal of increasing the political confidence of adolescent girls and young women around the world. The event at the United Nations General Assembly was hosted by The National Democratic Institute, Population Council, Running Start, and Women Win. Ola’s remarks on her experience as a youth advocate, including her role as a Child Senator in the Nigerian Children’s Parliament and how her passion for girls rights led her to implement a project focused on preventing sexual violence against adolescent girls in her community.
