Marinella Matjecic received a $5,000 seed grant from Women Deliver — made possible by Johnson & Johnson — to implement her “CSE in Practice” project, which advocated with the Croatian Department of Education for the implementation of quality comprehensive sexuality education in line with global standards. Through workshops, a working paper, the delivery of a petition with more than 1,500 signatures advocating for the rights of girls and women, and a meeting with the UN Special Rapporteur for Health and Rights, Marinella’s project has gained key support from members of the Gender Equality Committee of the Primorsko-Goranska County, and are now actively seeking ways to engage the Department of Education.
