share

Catherine Nyambura received a $5,000 seed grant from Women Deliver — made possible by Johnson & Johnson — to implement her “Stand Up and Be Counted” project. Along with non-profit organization FEMNET, Catherine’s project supported the representation of a young female advocate to attend the African Union summit, where she participated in various pre-summit activities, including the Gender Is My Agenda Campaign (GIMAC) Pre-summit with Ministers, African Youth Consultation, dialogue with UN Women Executive Director, presence at the Ministerial Pre-Commission on the Status of Women meeting. Participation served as key to amplify young women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights priorities and further plug into the vibrant voices of other young African women and their advocacy efforts.
