Teen Vogue interviewed Aditi Sharma and Olaoluwa (Ola) Abagun (Class of 2016) on their work to address gender-based violence in their countries. Aditi founded Kalyani, a NGO that empowers females and works to eradicate Chhaupadi Pratha, a tradition that portrayed women as “untouchable and impure” during their menstruation cycles.. Ola, Founder and Executive Director of Girl Pride Circle, a pro-girl non-profit organization in Nigeria, trains girls to advocate for their rights, and to identify sexual violence and advocate against it.
