Ala was invited to the United Kingdom for the Future Leaders Connect Program where he presented his vision on gender equality and women’s health and wellbeing to an audience of young leaders, senior government officials, diplomats, and politicians. He spoke with high-level leaders such as Mr. Kofi Annan, Ban Ki Moon, Lakhdar Brahimi and Mrs. Graça Machel about the situation of women in Africa and the role of governments in ensuring equal health systems. He then worked with a group of other young leaders to develop an online campaign to promote women’s SRHR and CSE in rural areas. At the UK House of Parliament, he met with a number of parliament members and ministers where the talked about the economic and social situation of women in North Africa. Young Leader Olaoluwa Abagun was also present at this event.
