Dagmawit Workagegnehu
Emerging Leaders Program Mentor
Dagmawit Workagegnehu is a young medical doctor from Ethiopia with a deep passion for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and health equity. She is a Women Deliver Young Leader Alum and is pursuing her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Equity, specializing in sexual and reproductive health (SRH), at the KIT Royal Tropical Institute.
Professionally, Dagmawit has served as a Family Planning Officer at the Sidama National Regional State Health Bureau, where she coordinated and monitored regional maternal health and family planning activities. Additionally, she worked as a Project Officer at the German Foundation for World Population (DSW) Ethiopia, managing national SRHR programs focused on youth engagement, advocacy, and improving the lives of vulnerable youth. Her leadership extends to youth organizations across Ethiopia, where she has represented youth at both national and international forums. She is a founder of Safer-SRHR, a local initiative that advocates for youth leadership in SRHR and gender equality among young people in Ethiopia
In addition, Dagmawit is a Rise Up Youth Champion and Youth Ambassador for Women’s Forum for Economy and Society committed to advancing SRH and empowering the next generation of youth leaders in Ethiopia and beyond.
