Summary of the Position:

The Senior Associate, Digital Communications collaborates on setting the digital strategy of the organization and provides oversight and execution of digital platforms and digital communications output. The Senior Associate is responsible for optimizing online engagement, with an eye towards unifying messaging across platforms and collecting data to better inform future decisions. The Senior Associate reports to the Senior Manager, Communications and manages the Associate, Social Media Communications.


Strategy, Content, & Data

  • Collaborate on developing effective digital advocacy strategies that drive impact and help reach organizational goals
  • Draft, copyedit, and review content for digital platforms
  • Meet regularly with Communications Specialists to align on organizational goals, tactics, content, and editorial calendars
  • Co-create and execute digital campaigns around priority milestones for Women Deliver
  • Manage paid digital campaigns beyond social media (i.e. banner ads, sponsored editorial, custom landing pages, etc.)
  • Develop digital comms KPIs and target audiences; Conduct surveys and landscape analyses to inform campaign strategy
  • Regularly measure and report on the performance of Women Deliver’s channels and campaigns (monthly at minimum) to inform future decisions
  • Liaise with various vendors to troubleshoot any technical issues across websites, newsletters, apps, and other digital platforms
  • Help build APIs to sync audience data across digital technologies
  • Stay up to date with emerging digital technologies and best practices; advise on adoption
  • Advise and mentor on digital strategy to staff and partners outside of Women Deliver via webinars, in-person trainings, materials review, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Manage and update website content (for the main site, Deliver for Good site, conference site, and any others that launch in the future); Delegate updates to Assistant when necessary
  • Regularly monitor website performance and engagement; Suggest adjustments to content, design, and tech
  • Help inform the design of new websites, mobile apps, and other digital tools: Participate in UX/UI brainstorms, conduct competitor research, coordinate with developers and designers
  • Help hire new developers: Feed into RFPs, analyze and score responses, conduct intake interviews, draft contracts
  • Manage organic SEO strategy; Delegate SEO input to Assistant when necessary
  • Lead Google AdWords Grant account; Set strategy, test keywords, build and test landing pages, manage budget, and adjust according to performance and organizational goals


  • Build and send organizational newsletters (General, Deliver for Good, VIP, Conference, Youth, etc.): Prepare content, liaise with colleagues, suggest A/B tests, follow copyedit and approval processes, publish on website
  • Strategize and execute newsletter growth strategy, including elements of pop-ups, paid ads, etc.
  • Strategize and execute newsletter segmentation plan; Manage various lists
  • Ensure personal data collection follows GDPR and other best practices

Social Media (Support)

  • Manage Social Media Associate, who will execute the majority of social media work at the organization
  • Align content of Women Deliver’s social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Medium, and YouTube) with Website, Newsletter, AdWords, and placed editorial
  • Collaborate on paid social media campaigns: Strategize on content, platform, audience, duration, and spend, specifically in relation to Google AdWords
  • Assist with creative social media campaigns including Twitter chats, social media takeovers, Facebook Live conversations, hashtag launches, quizzes, contests, etc.
  • Assist in social media toolkit creation and dissemination
  • Help inform social media influencer/stakeholder mapping


Qualifications, Skills, Education, and Knowledge:

  • BA/BS in Media, Communications, Digital marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience; prior experience in digital media preferred
  • Demonstrated success driving audience growth and engagement for an organization, including social media, website, and newsletter
  • Expertise in analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Sprout Social, etc.
  • Strong long- and short-form writing skills; including the ability to translate in-depth stories or complicated data into shareable social posts and headlines
  • Experience with website CMS – specifically WordPress
  • Experience with newsletter platforms – specifically MailChimp
  • Graphic design skills a plus
  • Visual media experience (photography, videography) a plus, including visual media recording and editing skills
  • Expertise in and passion for gender equality, international maternal, sexual and reproductive health and rights issues, with an emphasis on girls and women a plus
  • Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to apply strategic and creative thinking, while being persistent, motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work with colleagues across all levels – from interns, to peers, to executives; Prior management experience a plus
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Language skills (specifically French and/or Spanish) preferred
  • Must be able eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
