Mark Gachagua
Emerging Leaders Program Mentor
Mark is a policy and advocacy specialist. He is currently working with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). His role focuses on strengthening GAIN’s policy and advocacy work and its ability to engage with and influence global and national policy processes around food and nutrition security. In his previous roles, Mark conceptualized strategic policy advocacy campaigns and implemented multi-year initiatives to strengthen reproductive health programs in Southern and Eastern Africa. In addition, he has strong public speaking and writing skills, with substantive experience in research and policy engagement. Mark is working on his PhD in Public Policy and Management at Kenyatta University. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration specializing in strategic management. Additionally, he is certified in project management by the Rochester Institute of Technology. The University of Iceland has also granted him a certificate in gender and intersectionality. In his spare time, Mark likes to take pictures, go for walks in the evening, cook, listen to jazz music, and have fun with children.
