Carlo Angeles is an advocate for sustainable development through active citizen participation in the design and implementation of public policies. He has served as National Director for Organization of Youth at the Ministry of Education. In this capacity, he designed Peru´s first youth civil society participation and accountability mechanism for the Sustainable Development Goals, which was included in the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network Youth Report.

He has been invited as an expert in intergovernmental decision-making processes in 9 countries, including at the Annual Meeting of Governors of the World Bank / IMF, UN Habitat III, Civicus International Civil Society Week, World Health Organization Partners Forum, International Labor Organization Global Youth Employment Forum, among others. He has also served as member of United Nations Population Fund`s International Committee for International Conference on Population and Development 25, as member of the selection Committee for Civil Society Representative for United Nations Summit for the Adoption of the Post 2015 Development Agenda, member of the Selection Committee for stakeholder speakers of UN President of General Assembly WSIS+10 consult, and as judge for Organization of American States – TIC Americas and USAID Young Women Transform Prize.

Currently, he serves as a member of the Metropolitan Council of Lima. He has been recognized as a Women Deliver Young Leader and as a leader in sustainable development by the United Nations, European Commission and the Washington Academy of Political Arts and Sciences.

He holds a Master Degree in Public Administration from San Martin de Porres University and has received specialized training at Harvard University and Köln University.
