Salimata (Sally) Koné is originally from Senegal and currently lives in Mali. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration and Marketing from the Institut Supérieur de Management, Senegal in 2016. As a Protection Information Analyst at the Danish Refugee Council, Sally is responsible for supporting the development of suitable tools for collecting, storing protection data, and analyzing the tendencies and the protection needs in accordance with standards and principles of protection information management.

What ignited your pursuit for gender equality?

Growing up in West Africa and seeing all the social discrimination and later facing professionnal discrimination based on gender.

Please share your biggest wins as an advocate for gender equality.

I, with two colleagues, lead a workshop on International Women's Day. This year in my office, we put in place a system of female leadership and we heard all the voices and testimonials of women working in the organization.

Outside of your gender equality advocacy work, what do you enjoy doing?

I enjoy phtotography, dance, and music.
