What ignited your pursuit for gender equality?

Three things ignited my pursuit for gender equality. First, I am a strong religious believer and so I believe both males and females should be treated equally since we were all created from God's image. Second, gender equality is a Sustainable Development Goal that I have advocated for through plays and seminars. And third, my personal life has showed me women can do anything that men can do, so we need an equal world for all of us.

Please share your biggest wins as an advocate for gender equality.

While on placement implementing project work together with my team I led, I happened to participate in a play we prepared to show inequities among genders. We did a play in a community that had high rates of domestic violence and alcohol addiction. At the end of the play, the community received the message well and promised to live a changed life as a family that had equal roles to play. After two weeks and towards the end of project, we went back to the community for review and we received positive feedback on how our play changed their lives and how they were now living happy as a family.

Outside of your gender equality advocacy work, what do you enjoy doing?

I like cycling, traveling, listening to music, watching National Geographic channel, and running..
